For many SCADA applications, the system needs to be available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

adJile™ provides a hot standby solution that allows a seamless changeover between data servers if a server fails or has to be shutdown for maintenance purposes. If required triple or even quadruple redundancy can be provided, even with relatively low cost hardware.

Software running on the client workstations continuously monitors the status of the data servers. Following a shutdown or changeover the clients automatically re-connect to the new online data server. The operator is generally unaware that this has occurred although alarms can be configured so that the operator knows that a changeover has occurred. All events relating to the hot standby functionality are logged so that engineering staff can be made aware of them.
