Operational Performance Improvement & Analysis Solution

Aston Dane’s Operational Performance Improvement & Analysis Solution, OPIAS, is a proven and powerful database environment, layered for both the Operational and Management communities respectively.

OPIAS Utility is an engineered solution which takes the best available technology to provide mission critical operations in the Utility, Regulated and similar industries with a powerful suite of tools to disseminate critical data and turn it in to vital information.

Providing both analytical insight and consolidated history data demonstrating regulatory compliance; on demand and via pre–scheduled routines, to the desk top browser or via email.

Our experience in delivering database solutions recognizes the fact that different business communities within the same organisation need to access and deal with data in entirely different ways and for completely different reasons.

Operational personnel need to focus on safe, environmentally compliant production efficiency, to ensure maximum up time and efficient utilization of resources, whilst at the same time being in a position to analyze alarms & events and pre-empt service and maintenance problems before they arise.

Business managers on the other hand need to access aggregated and consolidated information devoid of confusing detail and presented in simple arrays as Key Performance Indicators – KPI’s to help inform agile business decisions making and demonstrate control.

Features

OPIAS Utility is engineered on the Oracle® platform. Robust and reliable, with proven advanced features which makes it ideal for large, mission critical data storage/retrieval applications in regulated environments.

Two identical schemas running within the OPIAS for Oracle database retain the specified process data, alarms and events. Storage times can be specified for the RAID5 configuration with fail over disks to ensure data security. Data and alarms/events are exported periodically; typically on a daily basis from OPIAS via Windows export services.

The information is backed up to DLT for permanent offline storage.  Subsequent data analysis is made easy via a re-import facility to a dedicated restore area of the Oracle database.

Automatic purging of the database tables and indexes is provided to contain the database size thus ensuring optimal performance.

Architecture

Data is captured from any source, any time, anywhere in the Enterprise.
